Cleanings and Check-ups

Oral Exams and Cleanings are important for children of all ages. According to the American Pediatric Association, a child must establish a dental home by age 1. An early start ensures your child’s needs are met before problems occur. Appropriate care of teeth and gums, as well as diet, are discussed. We strive to support children, and their parents, with the maintenance of optimal oral health.

Cavities and Nutrition

Cavities can occur when the mouth becomes an acidic breeding ground for bacteria. Several factors are frequently involved. We examine your child’s mouth, diet and history to help suggest the cause, and to understand how to prevent future cavities. We may discuss restoration options and offer nutritional recommendations.

Airway Focused Orthodontics

Good sleep is imperative for growth and development. But, if your child isn’t breathing well, and this is causing sleep disturbances, it can cause sub-optimal development, growth, performance and cognitive abilities. We assess potential airway and sleep issues and give recommendations.

Frenectomy (Tongue/Lip Tie)

When a new mom experiences pain or other problems while nursing her infant, we evaluate the infant’s tongue, lips and cheeks to identify any ties. A tie is an unusually short or tight tissue that can restrict a good latch and proper milk transfer. We use a laser and work with lactation consultants, chiropractors, myofunctional therapists and cranial sacral therapists for optimal results.

Orthodontics

Tooth function and proper breathing are our primary goals when considering moving teeth into alignment. Who thought that airway, breathing or myofunctional therapy (proper mouth muscle movement) played a role in straight teeth!? Although our focus is optimal function, beautiful, long-lasting esthetics are the result. We can assess your teeth and your needs and recommend specific treatment options using the most up-to-date technology and research-based techniques.
