Dr. Anna Kolencherry is a dentist who approaches oral health through the lens of both science and whole-body wellness. With a passion for precision, prevention, and patient relationships, she believes dentistry sits at the intersection of art, biology, and human connection.

Her interest in dentistry began early. As a child, she was captivated by a sign on her orthodontist’s door that read, “Dentist – Your smile’s architect.” The phrase resonated deeply, inspiring her curiosity about how thoughtful design and medical science could transform both function and confidence.

Dr. Kolencherry completed her undergraduate studies in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Illinois Chicago. She then earned a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Rush University before returning to the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Committed to expanding her clinical expertise, she pursued advanced training through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and continued her education at the Pankey Institute, where she deepened her understanding of occlusion, jaw function, and the relationship between teeth, muscles, and joints.

Her clinical philosophy is also shaped by integrative principles she experienced growing up in Kerala, India, where preventive health, nutrition, and natural remedies were central to everyday life. This early exposure to holistic wellness continues to influence her perspective today. Dr. Kolencherry is also SMART certified through the IAOMT, reflecting her commitment to safe mercury amalgam removal and biologically conscious dentistry.

At Wrigleyville Dental, she focuses on patient-centered care that considers oral health within the broader context of lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and functional habits.

Outside the practice, Dr. Kolencherry enjoys hot yoga, exploring the outdoors, caring for rare tropical plants, and spending time with her husband and their dog, Bentley.
